Over the past year we’ve seen our volunteering and training programmes provide real benefits to the people we work with. From helping one women set up her own design company (check out Nifty Fox Creative) to providing people with the training and work experience they need to gain paid employment, our volunteering and training has proven to be a real success. Building on the success of our programme last year, we’ve got a range of great new volunteering and training opportunities available.
This year, we’re looking for the following volunteers;-
Have you got experience of working in catering and hospitality sector and feel you could pass on your skills, knowledge and experience to one of our trainees? We’re looking for people who work within catering and hospitality sector to give a 4 hours a month to work with our trainees and provide mentoring and professional support to them. You’ll have worked in either a pub, hotel or restaurant for a minimum of 2 years as either a waiter, waitress or chef and be able to relate well to people from a range of different backgrounds. If you are interested in this opportunity, please email your cv to firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re looking for volunteers to help us develop our social media presence and promote the work we do more widely. You’ll commit to between 3 and 4 hours each week (minimum of 3 months) to update our social media with latest information.
We’re looking for volunteers to give 2 to 3 hours (minimum of 3 months) a week to provide admin support to the work Blend does. You’ll work with the Blend team to provide admin support to all parts of the organisation. This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to move into paid employment in an admin role who currently doesn’t have the necessary experience.
We’re looking for a group of volunteers interested in helping to organise and run a number of events we have planned over the course of this year. Volunteers will commit to 1 to 2 hours a week in the build up to the event and then 6 to 8 hours on the day of the event. You’ll work alongside the rest of the volunteer and staff team to help run some more fantastic events.
We have a number of opportunities for people looking to gain experience working with families through our Children in Need funded family cookery club programme. You’ll be required to give 3 hours a week between 2.30 and 5.30 to run one of our fantastic cookery clubs. You’ll work alongside Blend staff and staff from the primary schools the programme runs in to deliver our family cookery club project.
