We had a great December at Blend which saw 5 people complete our Shiregreen employment programme, 8 families complete our first family cookery club programme, we served a delicious free 2 course Christmas dinner to over 50 service users and volunteers from Ben’s Centre along with a number of other private functions and our Christmas party nights.
As we look ahead to the start of 2018, we’ve got a number of exciting new courses and events coming up over the course of the next year. These include our slow cooker course starting in January, more family cookery clubs (our next is going to be at Hatfield Academy in Firth Park later in January) and a programme of cultural food events celebrating the food of different communities living in Sheffield.
We also have exciting plans for Blend Kitchen as we look to expand our opening hours so as you’ve got more opportunity to try our food. To start the year we’re going to be running a number of one of events, starting in February. Our first is our St Valentines Feast which will include a 5 course tasting menu and celebrate the origins of Valentines day. Visit the events page of our website or our facebook page for more information. We’ll have more details on our exciting plans for Blend Kitchen in the coming weeks.
